In a roughly circular pattern, starting in the top left: Packaging from a rock painting craft gifted to my daughter: turns out this is #1, so it is in the recycling bin now. Packaging from a ceramics painting kit purchased last year. Cellophane bag from inside a tin of cookies. more bits of plastic from that same rock painting kit, this time not recycle-able. The paint from both kits, each in plastic packaging, both dried out and unusable by the time of the opening of the kits. The plastic shrink wrap from two journals gifted to the kids (journals were eco friendly in a big way, shrink wrap sort of shows the creators missed the point). The wrapping from a block of mozzerella. If anyone knows how to get cheese that ISN'T wrapped in plastic, let me know...other than tracking down people who make it themselves and selling them my hair or something. Two plastic tag connectors that came on some new clothing gifted to the kids. The lid and straw from gryphynshadow's lunch during Friday's visit. a latex-free bandaid used by my daughter. The little "I scream if you steal me" tab from a DVD my son received for Solstice (the dvd came in a cardboard case, which is happy!) Not pictured, but should be accounted for: two disposable diapers left by visitors whose life circumstances do not yet allow them to use cloth, the two plastic bags, one ziploc and one shopping, that those were wrapped in, and the plastic shopping bag that the clothing gift came in and which I used to put this garbage into the outside can with once I'd taken a pic.
Giftmas: the season of plastic. :P
